We’re getting close to the holidays, which means you should start thinking about how you want to decorate your home for the festivities. The possibilities for decoration ideas are endless; below are some of the trendiest ideas for this season. You will find that the more popular decorations deviate from the typical red and green that are usually associated with the holidays. For those looking for something unique, here are some great options:

Harness the Power of Navy Blue

Some may think that navy blue is traditionally associated with the summer months or maritime themes, but this year it is en vogue for the winter season. Navy is an excellent replacement for red or green because it is both classic and versatile. If you’re going for a rustic or industrial look, navy blue is the way to go. It is an excellent color to use near the fireplace, and can also make a wonderful backdrop for any Christmas activities you have planned.

Dazzle with Black and Gold

This is a timeless combination that, while not always associated with the holidays, will work perfectly. The combination of black and gold gives your room a glamorous, radiant, and sophisticated look.  You can never go wrong with a regal gold.

Create Warmth with Charcoal

Charcoal works wonderfully as a neutral. It is ideal for situations in which you wish to shape snug interiors, especially when snow begins falling outside. Charcoal black slightly  darker than most gray hues, and as a result, blends perfectly with colors that have a bold accent. Colors that go well with charcoal black include purple and fuchsia. The presence of charcoal black in your winter interior design will bring a warm and cozy feeling to your home.

Uplifting Orange

This is because of how well it pairs with outside colors, like gray and white. Orange is the epitome of cheerfulness and creativity. For those yearning for the summertime, orange is the perfect color for winter interior design. When used in bedrooms,  peach is a great variation of orange to add a soothing element.  More vibrant shades of orange are welcome in areas such as a kitchen or bathroom.

Relax and Unwind with Brown

Brown is another natural color which is an excellent alternative to green. Depending on the shade you use, you can create a relaxing, inviting environment or one which is dramatic. Like charcoal black, brown can be used to create a warm and cozy sensation, which is perfect for winter weather. Each shade of this color is pleasant to the eyes and it is a wonderful way to achieve harmony.  Those who are looking for an outdoor feel will not go wrong with this color. This color has an earthly feel which is very appealing!
